If you have a week to spend in Iquitos, our 7-day, 6-night Amazon rainforest tour will immerse you in the sights and sounds of the Amazon jungle! This tour includes 1 night of camping at “Mirador Palo Alto,” a three-story observation tower that offers a bird’s-eye view of the lowland rainforest. During this Iquitos Peru jungle tour, travelers will experience our most popular activities, including a thrilling night-time caiman excursion, visits to lagoons, birdwatching, piranha fishing, rainforest hiking, visits with native Amazonian tribes, canoe rides, pink river dolphin viewing, and much more! Day 1 : Camping in the Rainforest
Location: Iquitos, Iquitos

Depart from Iquitos City by car to arrive at the port town of Nanay. From there, travel by boat downriver for about 70 km (approximately 2 hours). The first stop will be Monkey Island, where you will have the unique opportunity to observe and interact with a wide variety of monkeys in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, enjoy a dolphin-watching session with the chance of seeing pink freshwater dolphins. In the evening, embark on a nocturnal nature hike to spot lizards, snakes, spiders, and possibly monkeys.
Day 2 : Sunrise on the Amazon

Wake up early to see the sunrise over the Amazon River and head out for a morning boat excursion to observe various types of flora and fauna. In the afternoon, enjoy a fishing excursion with the chance to catch piranhas, catfish, and other species of fish. Later, visit the Victoria Regia, the largest freshwater aquatic plant in the world. After sunset, embark on a canoe excursion to spot and catch caimans.
Day 3 : Camping in the Rainforest

In the morning, visit a local village to learn about the daily life and customs of the local people. In the afternoon, explore lagoons and tributaries. In the evening, take another nocturnal nature hike to observe species such as lizards, snakes, spiders, and possibly monkeys.

In the morning, embark on a jungle hike to the “Palo Alto Mirador,” a unique observation tower with three levels at 5, 10, and 15 meters above the ground. During the day, explore the area with activities like hiking, canoeing in the lagoon, or fishing (depending on the group’s preference). In the evening, go on a nocturnal walk to observe reptiles, spiders, and monkeys.

Start the morning with a birdwatching session from “Palo Alto,” where you can observe a variety of bird species. Later, visit lagoons near the Río Napo, which are home to palms, large trees, and beautiful landscapes. Choose from activities such as trekking, canoeing, fishing, plant identification, birdwatching, or simply relax with a swim in one of the lagoons. After dark, go on an evening boat excursion to spot white and black caimans, night birds, and other reptiles, while enjoying the sounds of the forest at night.
Day 6 : Camping in the Rainforest

Wake up early to see the sunrise over the Amazon River. After breakfast, depart by private boat for the Río Napo. Once you arrive, set up camp and prepare lunch. Spend the day exploring the area with activities such as hiking, canoeing, or fishing (depending on preference). At night, after dinner, embark on a night excursion by boat to observe nocturnal wildlife and enjoy the symphony of sounds from the jungle.
Day 7 : Return To Iquitos

Start the day with an early morning jungle hike, offering the unique opportunity to observe a variety of monkeys, birds, and other wildlife in their natural habitat. Learn about different types of Amazonian plants. Afterward, return to Iquitos. On the way, visit a local native tribe to learn about their history, customs, and traditions. Transfer to the airport or hotel in Iquitos to conclude the tour.
